GERMANTOWN COMMUNITY LIBRARY

GERMANTOWN, TENNESSEE

Williamson Pounders Architects was commissioned to design a new 32,000 square foot library for the City of Germantown in 1994.  Located in the city's municipal center, the library sets a new design standard for future Germantown civic facilities.

The library design addresses the needs of a community whose population is expected to double within the next 20 years.  Anticipating this growth, WPA incorporated significant children's facilities into the design, drawing from experience designing children's museums and educational institutions.  The one story structure is also designed to facilitate future additions without disturbing the adjacent park.
