WPA was selected by Immanuel Lutheran Church to expand its physical plant
and update its master plan.
Located in a high growth suburb of Memphis, Immanuel Lutheran operates a very successful elementary school. The new building program added the following: a Sanctuary to seat 550, a fellowship hall, entry/reception area, choir rehearsal, administrative areas, educational spaces (including infant and senior day care) and parking for 275. Included in the program was the integration of 27 existing Art Glass windows into the new Sanctuary.
Constructed in phases, the design provides for expansion without significantly changing existing spaces. Phase I included the Sanctuary, entry / reception and associated ancillary spaces, at a cost of $2 million. Construction of Phase I was completed in November 1996.
