This project involved the renovation of a 16,000 square foot office
building for use as corporate offices for an advertising agency. The
building, constructed in 1949, was originally headquarters for a finance
and leasing company and most recently had served as administrative space
for the United Way. The entire building was gutted and renovated to
provide a reception lobby, private offices, conference rooms and work
areas including a custom designed central work space referred to as the
"rock". The project also created a dark room, an
audio-visual room, break room and storage space.
The design of
the finished space was influenced both by the needs of the staff and the
architectural imagery of the existing building, a late Modern style
facility with evidence of streamline detailing and classic International
Style composition.
